The books are now selling quite well and seem to be especially popular with people who attend the corresponding lecture. Here is a sample of some of the reviews received on Amazon.

iran

From the Medes to the Mullahs (In Brief Series) (Kindle Edition)

Anne has taken hundreds of years of history of Iran and Iraq and made it clear to Westerners. Based on her lectures obviously her narrative has been polished to a brillant point. It is simple but not simplistic. She knows what is significant to her subject but presents it in terms and comparisons familiar to us “foreigners”. Short but comprehensible. A great read.

An informative read about perhaps one of the world’s most misunderstood regions and peoples, summed up by the author in easily digestible sections and delivered in an incredibly straightforward style. I’d definitely recommend for anyone embarking on studies of Iran, but if you’re simply interested in learning more about its history and relationship with it’s neighbours and the West, it’s enjoyable and not too heavy-going.

paul of tarsus

PAUL OF TARSUS: a First Century Radical (In Brief Series) (Kindle Edition)

This is the second short booklet of Anne Davison I have read. I just purchased the third. Her style is clear and direct. This is an excellent secular look at St Paul’s importance in founding the Christian church. I highly recommend it.
